Spotlight On: Mae Whitman

Mae was born in Los Angeles, California to Pat Musick, a voice actress, and Jeffrey Whitman, a set construction coordinator. She began her career with a voice-over for a Tyson Chicken commercial.

Whitman made her first silver screen debut playing Meg Ryan's youngest daughter, Casey Green, in When a Man Loves a Woman. Among her notable childhood roles were Patricia Whitmore, daughter of the President in Independence Day; George Clooney's daughter, Maggie Taylor, in One Fine Day; and the charming daughter, Bernice Pruitt, of Sandra Bullock, in Hope Floats.

As she has grown older, Mae has been seen as Mary in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Roxy in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World to  name a few.

Whitman has also made several guest appearances in television shows such as JAG, State of Grace, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. (IMDb)

Mae has several voice credits to her name most notably she can be heard as Tinker Bell in the Tinker Bell movies put out by Disney Toon Studios, multiple voices on the hit TV series Family Guy and as Wonder Girl on Young Justice.

Whitman is coming off of 5 years as Amber Holt on the TV series Parenthood where she starred alongside Lauren Graham, Miles Heizer and Craig T. Nelson to name a few.  Mae is currently starring as Bianca in the feature film The Duff with Robbie Amell and Bella Thorne.    The Duff is in theaters now.
