Two Former Child Stars Nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards

The 2008 Screen Actors Guild Award Nominees have been announced and two former child actors have been nominated.  Anna Paquin is one of the nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries for her performance in, “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.”  Anna Paquin, the young Canadian who grew up in New Zealand and whose only acting experience was as a skunk at a school play, stunned movie-goers from all over the world with her performance as Holly Hunter's angry young daughter in the acclaimed film The Piano (1993). Anna, who received an Oscar for her performance (the second youngest Oscar winner ever), has proven that The Piano (1993) was only the beginning of a fabulous career.

Ellen Page is one of the nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her performance in Juno.  Ellen Philpotts-Page was born on February 21, 1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She wanted to start acting at an early age and took the Neptune Theater School. Her first appearance was in the TV show "Pit Pony," (at age 10) and she received a Young Artist and Gemini nomination for Best Performance.
