Saoirse Ronan Nominated for an Oscar for her Performance in ‘Atonement’

Saoirse Ronan was nominated for 'Best Supporting Actress' for her performance in the film adaptation of Ian McEwan's dramatic novel Atonement.  The young actress plays thirteen-year-old Briony Tallis, an aspiring writer whose misunderstanding of her older sister's actions leads to a series of tragedies.  The announcement this week that the Irish starlet has been nominated for a coveted Oscar has firmly cemented the 13-year-old as one Tinseltown's leading lights, despite her tender age.  Read More
