Former Child Star Natalie Portman to Star in Big Screen Version of 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'

It was officially announced yesterday that Natalie Portman will be starring in the big screen version of the bestselling novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Portman will be producing the film through her Handsomecharlie Films with Annette Savitch, as well as Darko Films' Richard Kelly, Sean McKittrick and Ted Hamm. Lionsgate will be financing and distributing.

"Natalie and I are longtime passionate fans of Jane Austen's books and this a fresh, fun and thought-provoking way to approach her work," Savitch told Variety magazine. "The idea of zombies running rampant in 19th Century England may sound odd, but it lends a modern sense of urgency to a well known love story." Read More
