Former Child Star Leonardo DiCaprio Highest Paid Actor in Hollywood

Leonardo DiCaprio is the highest paid actor in Hollywood according to Forbes magazine. The young actor beat out Hollywood heavy hitters like Adam Sandler and Johnny Depp. He has certainly come a long way from his days as a troubled kid on the 80s show, “Growing Pains.”

According to the magazine, Leo earned $77 million in 2010 for two films. His psychological thriller “Shutter Island,” directed by Martin Scorsese did not earn very good reviews, but it certainly brought home some serious cash. His other film, “Inception,” directed by Christopher Nolan became a huge hit with its combination of sci-fi and action.

Leo’s massive success with those two movies cemented his reputation in the business, even in a struggling economy. His ability to sell tickets to adults in a tight economy is just what film studios are banking on. Read More
